NMS Wrestling Team - Important Registration Info

Hello Everyone,

Our 2024/2025 Middle School wrestling program and season are fast approaching and

registration is open! We are looking to hold a preseason meeting on 11/25/24 in the NMS

cafeteria @ 6:00pm.  The preseason meeting is a good review of what wrestling @ Norton is all about. 

To include the basics of wrestling, practice setup and schedule, as well as how our meets run and a tentative schedule. This meeting is not mandatory, but a helpful review for those who are returning and a helpful introduction to anyone new. Generally speaking, we try to allow each wrestler to develop @ their own pace, by developing their skills and character while having fun. Practices are held @ the HS on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Transportation from the MS to the HS will most likely be done via minibus or carpool. Transportation from the Yelle to the HS will most likely be done via carpool.  After practice, wrestlers should be picked up @ the HS @ 5:00pm in the wrestling room.

Meets will be held mostly on Wednesdays. We will try to schedule other meets on Saturdays

depending on the other team’s availability. A tentative schedule is attached below.

Home meets will be held @ the HS. On Wednesday home meets, wrestlers will transport to the

HS after school and be picked up @ the HS. Wednesday MS meets will be held from 5:00pm to

6:00pm. If we are able to schedule any Saturday meets, all wrestlers will meet @ the HS @

8:30am and will finish @ approximately 10:00am.

Wednesday away meets will take place @ approximately 5:00pm and there will be more

information on transportation soon. If we are able to schedule any Saturday away meets, they

will take place from approximately 8:30am to 10:00am and information on transportation will be

provided beforehand.

Our first practice will be held on 12/17/24 and the season will end on 2/7/24.

Registration can be done on the school website through Arbiter Sports.

In order to be eligible to tryout, ALL players must:

1. Have a physical on file with the school nurse PRIOR to Friday December 13

   • Physicals are valid for 13 months from the date of the exam.  Doctors may fax the physical to the school nurse, or it can be dropped off before November 8th.  DO NOT bring the physical with you to tryouts – the coaches cannot take it, it MUST go to the school nurse.

1. Be registered on FamilyID.com prior to December 13th.  

   • Be sure to register for MIDDLE SCHOOL Winter Athletics - Wrestling and fill out all emergency contact information.  You do not need to pay the user fee until after you know if you have made the team.

Any player not registered on FamilyID or without a valid physical on file with the school nurse WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRYOUT.  

There can be no exceptions to this rule.
